Finishing off the year at the Fall Convocation and Masters Hooding Ceremony. Great group of newly minted B.S. holders!
Nov 14, 2018: Our newest publication is now available!
Another great year at the Great Plains Infectious Disease conference, held at KU’s Vaccine Institute. The Bourne Lab ended up with four outstanding poster presentations – way to go group!
Outreach Activity Alert! Dr. Bourne helped out with local elementary school Truman Elementary for STEM day.
We had a blast exploring LUMINESENCE versus FLUORESENCE and their temperature dependence (or not).
And what better way to demonstrate this than by playing with Glow Sticks and flowers in a highlighter/water mixture illuminated with a black light!
Thank you so much Truman Elementary for hosting a fun, exciting day showcasing STEM for 3rd-5th graders!!
(Oct.) The Bourne Lab will miss Hannah and Kriti as they move on to their next rotation – great job! 🙂
Congrats to Kevin on acing his Prelim Exam – way to go!!
Fun times as the summer draws to an end – BourneLab party (“ParDE”?) Just missing a few members….. and it turns out the group has some good bowlers! (not Dr. B though…)
Jessica has outdone herself, winning the C2C “Best Effective Communication Presentation” for the second time!
Beautiful poster and a great way to go out on a high note (she leaves for grad school in a few weeks)…
Well done Eugene for his presentation at the INBRE poster symposium on July 13, 2018 – great job on your project!
A lab’s got to eat! Fun times at Fuzzy’s Taco..

🙂 (You guys are the best!)
